Details

Hand-spun, hand-woven khadi from Kachchh, Gujarat, at 150 GSM and the traditional 36 in loom width. Khadi is narrower than mill cloth because it comes off a hand loom, so plan your cutting around 36 in and not 44 in. Every metre is certified khadi, which matters because a great deal of what is sold under the name is mill cloth with a rough finish. The slubs and small variations in thickness are the charkha. Available unbleached in the natural cream or dyed with azo-free reactive colours, which release a little on the first wash. Khadi shrinks more than any other cotton, about 5 percent, so pre-wash the cloth before you cut it.

  • 36 in loom width, plan your cutting for it

  • Rolled on a kraft tube, machine wash cold once made up
  • No power-loom imitation, no polyester, no plastic packaging
