Details
A stole in 60 GSM pure tussar silk, handwoven in Bhagalpur, Bihar, the town that has worked this yarn for two centuries. Tussar comes from the forest silkworm, so the filament is thicker and irregular, and the cloth has a dry hand and a natural honey-gold cast that no dye can imitate. Offered undyed in the natural tussar shade or dyed with azo-free acid colours over that gold base, which is why the dyed shades read warm rather than flat. The slubs across the width are the fibre. The selvedge is left as it came off the loom and the ends are hand-twisted into a fringe.
