Details
Pure linen woven in Bhagalpur, Bihar, at 180 GSM in a clean plain weave, 58 in usable width. Bhagalpur has spun and woven bast fibres for generations, and the linen that comes off these looms has a dry crisp hand that softens over a year of washing into something better than it started as. Yarn-dyed with azo-free dyes, so nothing bleeds and a pre-wash costs you no colour. There is no crease-resist resin on it, which means it will crease, and that is what linen does. Linen relaxes about 3 percent on the first wash, so pre-wash before cutting. The wide 58 in width means a shirt takes 1.6 m and trousers take 1.4 m, less than the narrower cloths.
