Details
A traditional jhabla and nappy pant in 55 GSM mul-mul woven in Phulia, Nadia district, West Bengal. Left undyed in its natural unbleached cream, because for a newborn the safest dye is no dye at all. The jhabla ties at the side with flat cotton tapes, so it goes on without pulling anything over the head. All seams are turned so the join sits on the outside and nothing rubs. Washed three times before it is packed, which takes out the loom starch and does most of the shrinking, though mul-mul will still relax about 2 percent more.
