Details

A 2.5 m dupatta in 70 GSM Chanderi, handwoven in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, on a mulberry silk warp with a fine cotton weft. The transparency Chanderi is known for comes from the raw yarn being woven without degumming, and no mill fabric reproduces it. The border is woven in tested zari with a copper core and a real silver coating, so it will not go black in a year the way plastic-film zari does. Azo-free reactive dyes on the cotton weft, a faint tint in the first rinse and nothing after. Chanderi is fine cloth, so it wants a gentle hand and a low iron.

  • 70 GSM handwoven Chanderi, mulberry silk warp with cotton weft
  • 2.5 m x 40 in, the classic glassy Chanderi fall
  • Tested zari border, copper core with a silver coat, not plastic film
  • Azo-free dye, a faint tint in the first rinse only
  • Hand wash cold and alone, or dry clean
  • Low iron with a cotton press cloth
  • No polyester chanderi, no plastic zari, no plastic packaging
