Details
Baked on ghee and oil on a chimney filter, a gas hob and the wall tile behind it is the hardest job in an Indian kitchen, and a gentle formula will not touch it. This one is properly alkaline, because alkali is what turns hard fat back into something water can carry. Gentleness is not an excuse for a product that does not work. What matters is how it gets there.
- No caustic soda, no chlorine bleach, no phosphates, no butyl glycol or aromatic solvent, no dye, no perfume
- Alkalinity comes from soda ash and potassium salts, at pH 10.5 to 11
- Plant derived surfactants, readily biodegradable to OECD 301, which counts double here because a degreaser is rinsed into the drain in volume
- Spray, wait three to five minutes so the alkali has time to work, then wipe. On a chimney mesh filter, spray both sides, stand ten minutes and rinse under a hot tap
- It is alkaline, so wear gloves for a long session, keep it off aluminium and unsealed stone, and store it above counter height
