Details

Bin liners made from a maize starch based compostable resin, certified to IS or ISO 17088 and carrying the CPCB provisional certificate number printed on the pack. That number is the only thing separating a genuine compostable bag from the many bags in the Indian market that simply print a leaf on ordinary plastic. We will be honest about the limit. Compostable means it breaks down in an industrial or a working home compost pit, under heat and moisture. Buried in a landfill and starved of oxygen it will not compost meaningfully, and no bag will. So this makes sense if your wet waste actually goes to a compost pit, a municipal wet waste stream or a society composter. If it does not, a bag is not the fix.

  • No polyethylene and no oxo degradable additive, which is ordinary plastic with a metal salt that makes it fragment into microplastic faster, banned in several countries and not composting at all
  • No printed dye
  • 25 micron seam sealed film, thick enough to hold a full bin of wet kitchen waste without tearing at the seam, which is where cheap compostable bags fail
  • About 90 to 180 days to break down in a working compost pit
  • Keep it dry and out of sun and use within 12 months, because a bag designed to break down starts as soon as it is warm and damp
