Insulated Steel Water Bottle

A 750 ml double-wall vacuum bottle in 304 stainless steel, the same grade inside and out. Some bottles use 304 for the inner wall and a cheaper 201 steel outside, which rusts at the base ring within a monsoon. Both walls here are 304. The vacuum is drawn through a base port that is then welded and copper-shielded, which is why it holds 12 hours hot and 24 hours cold rather than the optimistic numbers printed on most bottles. Those are measured at 25 degrees ambient with a full bottle, which is how we measured ours. The lid is the part that fails. It uses a food-grade silicone gasket that lifts out with a fingernail, and we send replacements free for five years, because a bottle thrown away over a two rupee ring is exactly the waste this house exists to avoid.
