Details

A standard RO purifier throws away about three litres for every litre it delivers. This one runs a recovery ratio of 1:1, using a higher pressure pump and a flow restrictor matched to the membrane, so a family drinking 15 litres a day sends about 15 litres to the reject line instead of 45. The reject outlet is a separate labelled pipe, long enough to reach a bucket, because that water is fine for mopping and for the plants. Input TDS up to 2000 ppm, output held between 60 and 120 ppm by a blend valve you can set.

  • 1:1 recovery ratio, published, against the 1:3 that is normal in this category
  • RO membrane, sediment and carbon pre filters, a UV chamber and a mineral cartridge, in that order
  • 46 dB(A) pump noise at one metre, and the pump runs only while the tank fills
  • Every cartridge is a standard 10 inch or 12 inch size, not a proprietary shell, so a filter change costs about Rs 1400 a year
  • Filter change interval published at 8 to 12 months for typical municipal supply, with a litre counter on the display
  • Spares held 7 years, service manual and part prices published
  • 2 years comprehensive, 3 years separately on the pump and the membrane housing
  • Left out: no proprietary cartridge lock, no alkaline or ioniser claim, no glued housing, no sealed service panel
