Details
A BLDC ceiling fan draws about 28 W at full speed against 75 W for an ordinary induction fan, delivering the same air. Run eight hours a day, that is close to Rs 90 a month saved, so the fan pays back its extra cost inside two summers. It is also quieter, 32 dB(A) at one metre at top speed, because a brushless motor has no slip and no humming laminate. The part that fails on a BLDC fan is the driver module, not the motor, so here the driver sits in the canopy and unclips without taking the fan down.
- 28 W at full speed, 5 star rated, air delivery 235 CMM on the 1200 mm
- 32 dB(A) at top speed at one metre, published
- Driver module in the canopy, unclips and replaces in place, no need to drop the fan
- Remote with six speeds, a timer and a boost, plus a wall switch that still works if the remote is lost
- Aluminium blades with a baked finish, individually replaceable, and a stocked driver, capacitor free
- Spares held 10 years, service manual and part prices published
- 2 years comprehensive, 5 years separately on the BLDC motor
- Left out: no capacitor to fail, no regulator on the wall to hum, no sealed canopy, no remote only control
