A plain dry iron, which is still the right tool for cotton and for a household that sprinkles water by hand. There is no tank, no steam chamber and no board, so there is nothing to scale up and nothing to fail. Weight is deliberate at 1.2 kg, because on cotton the press does half the work. The soleplate is a heavy non stick coated aluminium with a smooth tip, and the thermostat is a mechanical dial with fabric markings.
