Details

A vase thrown by hand on a wheel in Khurja, so the wall thickens slightly toward the base and the piece sits steady with tall stems in it. Fired to 1,220 C, which vitrifies the body and makes it watertight without a plastic liner or a glued disc in the bottom. The matte glaze stops just short of the foot, so you can see the clay it is made of.

  • Wheel thrown, no mould seam, each one slightly different
  • Fired to 1,220 C, vitrified and watertight through the body
  • Matte glaze inside and out, unglazed foot ring
  • Weighted base, holds tall stems without tipping
  • Works dry too, for pampas, dried grasses or nothing at all
