Details
The hair oil most households grew up with, made without the shortcuts. Six herbs, bhringraj, amla, curry leaf, hibiscus, fenugreek and neem, are slow-infused into cold-pressed sesame oil over 72 hours at low heat, then filtered. Open almost any bottle on a shop shelf and you will find mineral oil, a green dye and a heavy perfume. There is none of that here. The smell is the herbs and the sesame, and the colour is whatever the leaves gave it, which varies a little by batch.
